June’s birth month flowers are among the most fragrant of all, the rose and the honeysuckle. There’s a reason that roses have inspired poets and painters for centuries. There are roses for every imaginable taste from climbing roses and shrubs to long-stemmed roses.
A bouquet of roses means sincere gratitude, whereas a single rose amplifies the meaning of the color (a single red rose means “I REALLY love you”).
The other June flower is honeysuckle, which is a strong symbol for the everlasting bonds of love.

According to the Old Farmers Almanac, founded in 1792, The fragrant Lily of the Valley signifies sweetness, humility, and a return to happiness. If you want to show your loved one that your life is complete with them, give them a few lilies of the valley.
The other May flower is the Hawthorn plant, which represents hope and supreme happiness. Hawthorn signifies that you want only the best for the recipient.
If there a flower that is common and that everyone knows, it is the daisy. There are all kinds of great varieties of the daisy and people absolutely love them. With the daisy, it has a meaning that shows loyalty to love and commitment. This is a great flower to give to those you truly care about.
The daisy is part of the Asteraceae family, there are over 22,000 species in this category. You can literally get a daisy in nearly every color. The flowers have very distinct petals that make it very easy to determine what they are; there are always 5 petals off of a floret in a daisy flower.
Bellis perennis is a common European species of daisy often considered the archetypal species of that name. Bellis may come from bellus, Latin for "pretty", and perennis is Latin for "everlasting".
The name "daisy" is considered a corruption of "day's eye", because the whole head closes at night and opens in the morning -- hence, the saying "fresh as a daisy".
The English Daisy is also considered to be a flower of children and innocence.
In Norse mythology, the daisy is Freya's sacred flower. Freya is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility, and as such the daisy came by symbolize childbirth, motherhood, and new beginnings.
William Wordsworth, the English poet, wrote many poems about daisies. Below is a small excerpt:
Thou wanderest the wide world about,
Unchecked by pride or scrupulous doubt,
With friends to greet thee, or without,
Yet pleased and willing;
Meek, yielding to the occasion's call,
And all things suffering from all,
Thy function apostolical
In peace fulfilling.
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
BY WILLIAM WORDSWORTH
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
Symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings, the daffodil is virtually synonymous with spring. Though their botanic name is narcissus, daffodils are sometimes called jonquils, and in England, because of their long association with Lent, they're known as the "Lent Lily." Cheerful yellow daffodils signal the end of winter cold and the return of warmer days. Because the daffodil is one of the first flowers of spring, it is also symbolic of hope.

We wanted to remind everyone to get their custom orders in for Father's Day before the end of January. We won't actually start production until middle February but we need some advance time to finalize designs. The process is pretty simple -- you tell us your theme(s) and we'll help you design the perfect belt, dog collar, wallet, key fob, or other item.
Of course, custom orders are not just for Father's Day! We do custom orders all year long! But at busy times such as Father's Day and Christmas we do the production in batches to make the leather shop more efficient.
Please fill out our short form (click link) or email us at support@charlestonbelt to get started. We guarantee you'll have great fun doing the project with us and it will result in a truly one-of-a-kind gift! Some inspirations below.
